BS Zoology

Brief history:

The study of life is an exciting and growing challenge of the present century. The history of zoology traces the study of the living world. Over the 18th and 19th centuries, Zoology became increasingly professional disciplines. The department of Zoology sciences was established in 2003 under the main objective to increase the main power of the country. The department is offering BS 4 year degree in Zoology. We are committed to excellence in teaching and research programs. The department has well qualified faculties in the field of zoology.

Laboratory:

The department has been trying to improve the laboratories conditions; a mega project is already submitted in this regard. At present the department has the following major equipment’s. Autoclave, orbital cool shaking incubator, centrifuge, electrophoresis, laminar flow and spectrophotometer

Library:

The library has a collection of both national and international latest editions .Presently there are more than 3000 latest books in the library and the numbers increase every year on special grant by the university.

Research activity and achievement:

The faculties members are continuously engaged in research work and are HEC approved PhD supervisors. Presently 2 PhD scholars and 4 MPhil students are registered. Research on Zoology, biodegradation of environmental pollutants and antibacterial activity of plants is also going on. At present the department has more than 300 research publications in journals of international repute.
